August 2017
We hope you are having a fantastic summer and enjoying all that the area has to offer. We have some summer reminders and local events to share with you.
SNHA Donation To The Summer Lunch Program Update
The SNHA Annual Meeting 2017 and picnic were held on July 1, 2017. Each year the association chooses a community charity in which to support by donations collected at the picnic. The Cambridge Food Shelf summer lunch program was selected this summer. It provides lunches for children who qualify for either free or reduced lunches during the school year. This summer they have 50 children enrolled for a full 10 weeks. Thanks to the generosity of our homeowners a total of $1335.00 was collected during the annual picnic and it is very much appreciated. SNMCo agreed to match this donation. Way to go!
Grilling on Decks
Everyone likes a BBQ in the summertime. However, grills and other outdoor cooking appliances must be used in compliance with State of Vermont Fire and Life Safety codes. If you are unfamiliar with how this may apply to your home please see http://firesafety.vermont.gov/buildingcode/codesheets . In our reading of this code, we believe only a very few large decks are designed to support grilling on the decks. Any and all grilling must be at least 10 feet away from structures. Let us know if you have any questions.
