Dear Homeowners,
A few notes on upcoming spring projects at Smugglers’.
· Water Heater replacements – The SNHA 2016 Water Heater (electric) Replacement notification letters went out January 22, 2016. Only the homes identified as being at or having expired warranty dates were notified. Tracy is currently working with our contract installers to develop an updated scope for work and 2016 prices. When the program details are complete, she will notify homeowners including deadlines for payment and installations. Installations will begin in April of 2016.
· Fireplace cleaning – (wood and gas). Cleaning services will be available to non-renting homeowners again this spring. If your home is in the Smugglers’ rental program, the cleaning is already scheduled by Smugglers’ maintenance and is performed annually. The State of Vermont requires that fireplaces in the Smugglers’ homes be inspected and tagged regardless of if you rent or not. The State of Vermont considers all homes at the resort to be in the public building category, therefore requirements for public buildings apply.
· Baseboard Electric Heater Replacements – Notices have previously been sent regarding replacement of electric baseboard heating units. The deadline for contacting SNHA to schedule baseboard heater replacements was January 15, 2016. This service is primarily for homes facing the possible disturbance of materials adjacent to the heaters that may contain asbestos. If you are unclear as to whether your home fits this category, please contact Tracy in the SNHA office as additional homes may be added to this project.
· 2016 Quality Home Program action list items – If you wish assistance from SNHA to schedule work for this spring please contact Tracy in the SNHA office. Also as a reminder, remember to notify the Resort of any required maintenance that you have completed or of any upgrades you have made to your home so that Smugglers’ may update your action list and listing in the reservations system if needed.
· SNHA Web Site – The SNHA Directors are looking for homeowners interested in helping us to manage the SNHA web site. Please contact Joe if you are interested.

Kate Mccuin Clark, Cambridge
I am writing to wholeheartedly support and recommend Elisha Hall for the position of Cambridge Town Clerk and Tax Collector. I have known Elisha for over 20 years both personally and professionally. Elisha demonstrates a strong work ethic, sound moral reasoning and overall impeccable character. I have no doubt that she would be a valuable addition to represent our town.
Elisha Hall prides herself on her community involvement and is proud of her town and enjoys giving back to others. The Town of Cambridge would be very fortunate to have her as their new town clerk.. Elisha goes the extra mile to get the job done and pays careful attention to details along the way. I am confident that with Elisha’s desire to continually improve, combined with her future potential and past experience, she would be an asset to our wonderful town. I support Elisha Hall for Cambridge Town Clerk/Tax Collector on Tuesday, March 1! ~ Kate McCuin Clark, native Cambridge resident.
The Smugglers’ Weather – Forecasts are at last calling for the arrival of some natural snow and colder temperatures this week. No words can describe this “winter that wasn’t” so I won’t even try. I will say……hats off to the Smugglers’ staff for making the best of a truly challenging season.
Thank you all !
