Dear fellow homeowners
On Friday Bill Stritzler sent an update to all homeowners regarding resort operations this summer and current Vermont Covid 19 regulations/expectations. As a follow up to Bill’s note, we also want to share updates from your Smugglers’ Notch Homeowners’ Association.
- SNHA 2020 Annual Meeting on July 5th
A State mandated and required 14-day required quarantine for out of state visitors arriving to Vermont is still in effect. With uncertainty as to exactly when that will be lifted, SNHA is finalizing plans to hold our SNHA 2020 Annual Meeting 100% virtual on July 5th starting at 9am via Zoom. Details will follow in a separate message. We plan to be succinct with all our presentations including a resort presentation from Bill and Lisa. Each section will have a question and answer session via an online chat option and a moderator to field the questions. Currently, we expect 2 voting items (board nominations/vote and a vote on a special assessment to rebuild our reserves post village fee and recreational access resolution.) Our voting will be via an app, Poll Everywhere that will be used on a mobile phone message platform. Additional details will be provided.
- With no large gatherings feasible in early July, we will not have our annual July 4th barbeque. We will, however, continue our support for the local community with the Cambridge Food Shelf and encourage you to contribute your support by a donation to this important local Vermont community organization. Please make checks payable to Cambridge Food Shelf and mail to SNHA – PO Box 244, Jeffersonville, VT 05464 to be received no later than July 5th. We will present the checks as a group to the Food Shelf.
- Tradelasts – is a program to donate your home to health care first responders in the COVID 19 pandemic and their families who have courageously put their health on the line. Homeowner Steve Hoey and Smugglers’ Lisa Howe will elaborate more for how to participate in this great program providing a Vermont experience for the heroes that have helped those affected during the pandemic. Stay tuned. The resort has graciously agreed to support this program.
Summer Rental of Full Homeowner Homes – The new standards for Vermont lodging for the foreseeable future requires the removal of personal items that are likely to be touched by guests in the course of their stay, and that cannot be reasonably cleaned in the time between guests. All renting homeowners must remove bedspreads, comforters and other personal items that are likely to be touched by guests and cannot be thoroughly cleaned between guests from their homes by July 15. More details regarding the process/protocols/options will follow from Smugglers’ soon. Homeowners can choose to reserve your home for personal use only this summer without any penalty and not have to remove personal items. If this is the option you want choose to please send a note to both Kendall (homeownerreservations@smuggs.com) and Lauren (lmckenzie@smuggs.com) advising them of this choice.

Self-Renters and Non-Renters – The above Vermont State and Resort requirements for removing home furnishings and registering all guests with the resort apply to homeowners who rent their homes to others, as well as to any guests staying in any of the homes.
In addition, we will be sharing with you soon the requirement for all resort guests (including owners) to complete a health survey, per the Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development. Smuggs is developing an online questionnaire that all homeowner and self-renter guests must complete prior to their visit this summer. Smuggs will also have an online “promise” for Homeowners themselves to acknowledge that they are in good health, will monitor themselves for the presence of any symptoms, and will follow safe practices for social distancing and mask wearing when physical distancing isn’t possible.
Please review Bill’s note carefully. We must all support and be cooperative with registering our visits with the resort. The resort staff is working hard in the current environment to allow for wonderful Vermont vacations albeit different than the past.
